Christantus Uche Sparks Dominant Palace Win at Shelbourne.
Despite embarking on their maiden European adventure, Crystal Palace are learning at a rapid pace. Missing key players like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the London club left Dublin with a comfortable result that all but secures them a place in the Conference League qualifying rounds.
A further victory in their next match against Finland's KuPS ought to be sufficient to secure direct passage to the knockout stages, especially following a previous setback against Strasbourg.
Fringe Players Seize the Moment
This match offered a chance for several Palace's fringe players to impress. Christantus Uche, in only his second start since arriving on loan from Getafe, opened the scoring with a well-taken goal. Striker Eddie Nketiah added a another, scoring for the second consecutive succession.
A Shelbourne team that had concluded their league season were outmatched even for a mostly second-string Palace lineup. The Londoners were further weakened by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with knee injuries.

The contest was as good as over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past some comically weak challenges before calmly dispatching a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.
After the break, coach Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to withdraw several players like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse almost scoring with his very first touch, only to see his shot blocked.
Esse was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one shot strike off each posts before being gathered on the line. Uche also missed a sitter of a chance, showing there is still room for development in his game.
A solitary concern for Palace was a late knock to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This paved the way for 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect night for the traveling side.
