Britain's leader plans to press allies to provide Ukrainian forces with further extended-range weaponry to target Russian targets during a meeting in the UK capital on Friday.

The prime minister is set to welcome President the Ukrainian head of state alongside the so-called "group of committed partners", comprising over twenty of Ukraine's allies who have agreed to offer the Ukrainian government protection commitments once a ceasefire is arranged.

Ukraine's president has been urging for an extended period for more extended-range systems from allied countries, an action that Russia has stated would escalate the war.

President Zelensky is travelling from the EU capital, where he met EU leaders on yesterday pursuing funding aid.

"The only person participating in this conflict who declines to stop the war is the Russian leader," the Prime Minister said.

The Prime Minister will also announce that a hundred extra anti-aircraft missiles will be supplied to Kyiv ahead of schedule, as detailed in a substantial financial arrangement concluded between the UK and the Ukrainian government in March.

Diplomatic Momentum

The Ukrainian president travels off the back of significant diplomatic successes recently: Washington's action to finally apply further sanctions against Russia, and the European Union consenting to support Ukraine's financial gap.

The Prime Minister is seeking to sustain the progress by increasing the pressure on Russia to pursue a resolution to the war.

Britain's leader will press leaders to expand the supply of extended-range systems following a successful attack on an industrial facility in Bryansk, Russia, using British-supplied Storm Shadow missiles.

"And his depraved attacks on young children in a daycare recently make that abundantly clear," he continued.

A pair of children were part of at least seven lost in multiple Moscow's attacks on Ukraine, which targeted a preschool facility in the second biggest city the eastern city.

Financial Discussions

Sir Keir will consult Western allies on methods to remove Russia's petroleum resources off the global market.

They will furthermore discuss employing frozen Russian assets to provide Ukraine with financial loans, although the initiative encountered a lack of political consensus and regulatory obstacles at the European meeting on yesterday.

European nations stopped short of consenting a plan to employ up to €140bn in seized Russian resources to monetarily assist Ukraine.

Nonetheless, the delegates agreed to help support Kyiv's "financial needs" for the next two years.

America also disclosed sanctions on recently against Russia's major oil companies, Rosneft Oil and Lukoil, as component of initiatives to add monetary leverage on Russia to commence peace talks.

Russia initiated its comprehensive attack of Ukrainian territory in February 2022. Russian troops presently holds about one-fifth of Ukrainian territory, including the southern region Russia annexed in several years ago.
